Custom Name Patches

As a result of shortening long sleeve shirts to short sleeves, I have a bit of material left over. I used to sew name patches by hand, but now have invested in a low-end embroidery machine, and I can sew professional-looking name patches for Scout uniforms. They look similar to the "BOY SCOUTS of AMERICA" strip found over the pocket.

I ask for a donation of $1 each to the uniform bank for the name patches. Postage is $1 for the order, no matter the quantity. I also take new, current issue council shoulder patches (CSP) in exchange for name patches; three names to one CSP. Postage is still $1. As for authorization for wear on the uniform, this is a 'gray' area. I had a request from Mike Walton for his Jamboree uniform. I am not sure if you are familiar with him, but he is somewhat of an unofficial resource for uniform/insignia information. I do know that there is a moratorium on nametags for youth members (YPT safety issue), and I do not knowingly stitch patches for youth under 16. The name patches are discreet, and are worn in lieu of the plastic tag.

To order patches, please send an E-Mail to me by clicking here. Indicate the names you wish embroidered, the color combination, and quantities. You may request all UPPER CAPS (ROBERT B. POWELL), or Title Case (Robert B. Powell).

Colors available are:
red on tan
yellow on blue
red on yellow
red on kelly (Venturing)
black on white (Sea Scouts)
Other colors may be available, please ask if you are interested.

Patches are cut to height, folded, and ironed. Length is left rough for you to fold to your needs. As these are custom-embroidered, it may take me up to four weeks to turn-around, depending on my schedule. If you are not satisfied with the product, I will re-stitch the patch for you. If I misspell the name, I will re-stitch at no additional charge, provided it was my error. If you send me an incorrect spelling, I do ask for reimbursement of $1 per patch plus $1 postage for re-stitching.

Keep on Scoutin'
